With 1,545 metres above sea level is Cradle Mountain the fifth-highest mountain in Tasmania and one of the principal tourist sites in the state. Whenever you come to Tasmania don’t forget to climb Cradle Mountain. Even when you might see a lot of tourists walking around the lake will most of them don’t climb the mountain. I had a great time hiking it and recommend it to everyone who is fit enough for the strenuous day hike. One tip: drive there early as possible so that you can park right at the lake. There are only a few spots available and once they’re gone you have to park kilometres away and have to take a shuttle bus with lots of other people. 😉 The earlier you can start the hike the better.
